Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is with profound gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before Your Excellency today on behalf of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, the apex and umbrella body representing the collective interests and aspirations of the youths of our dear state.
First and foremost, permit me to sincerely appreciate Your Excellency for granting us this audience. Despite your demanding schedule, you have once again demonstrated that the welfare and development of young people remain a priority of your administration. This meeting is not only an honour to the Youth Council but also a clear demonstration of your unwavering belief in the capacity of young people as partners in governance and development.
We also wish to sincerely appreciate the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, the Permanent Secretary, and the entire management and staff of the Ministry of Youth Affairs for their continuous support, accessibility, and commitment to youth development. Their collaboration with the National Youth Council has strengthened our programmes and deepened the relationship between government and the organized youth constituency.
Your Excellency, permit me to state without any fear of contradiction that your administration has been one of the most youth-friendly governments in the history of Osun State. Since your assumption of office, you have consistently demonstrated that the youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow but indispensable partners in the development of our state.
Under your leadership, the annual celebration of the International Youth Day has been sustained, providing a platform to celebrate, empower, and inspire thousands of young people across Osun State. Your administration also institutionalized the annual grant to the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, thereby strengthening our capacity to coordinate youth programmes and initiatives across the state.
We remain grateful for your support towards the NYCN Town Hall Meetings, which have provided an avenue for constructive engagement between government and young people. These interactions have enhanced youth participation in governance and strengthened public confidence in your administration.
Your Excellency also sponsored Osun youths to participate in the Citizenship and Leadership Training Programme at the Sea School, Apapa, Lagos, where they acquired valuable leadership, civic, and patriotic values that continue to impact their communities positively.
Beyond these, your administration has consistently supported several programmes and activities of the National Youth Council. Whether through financial assistance, logistics, or moral support, you have always demonstrated your readiness to stand with the organized youth constituency whenever called upon.
The Council is equally grateful for your confidence in members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria by appointing deserving young people into positions of governance. Shortly after the successful conduct of our State Congress in 2025, your administration appointed two committed members of our Council, Hon. Ajala Adetunji as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) and Hon. Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi as Special Assistant (SA). These appointments were not only well deserved but also sent a strong message that your administration recognizes competence, dedication, and the immense contributions of young people to governance. We sincerely appreciate this gesture and remain hopeful that more qualified youths will continue to be given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the development of Osun State.
On a personal note, I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity given to me by your administration to represent Osun State at the African Youth Commission Programme in Canada. That exposure provided invaluable knowledge and international experience in youth leadership and governance, which I have continued to deploy in the service of the youths of Osun State.
These are only a few of the numerous investments your administration has made in youth development. They clearly demonstrate your conviction that investing in young people is investing in the future of Osun State.
Your Excellency, I can boldly say today that you have remained a dependable pillar behind the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter. Your fatherly support, accessibility, confidence in young people, and unwavering commitment to youth development have strengthened the Council and inspired us to do more in promoting peace, leadership, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and community development across our state.
Your Excellency, permit me to assure you that the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter remains resolutely behind your administration. We stand with you today, we will stand with you tomorrow, and we shall continue to stand with you in every genuine effort aimed at the growth and development of Osun State. Our support is borne out of our conviction in your leadership and our appreciation of your commitment to the welfare of our people, particularly the youth.
Standing before Your Excellency today are not just members of the State Executive Council of the NYCN. In attendance are the entire management of the Council, comprising the State Executive, Coordinators and leadership of our Local Government Branches, as well as Heads of our affiliated Voluntary Youth Organizations. Their presence is a clear demonstration of the unity and confidence the organized youth constituency has in your leadership.
We respectfully appeal that this engagement should not end here. We desire a more structured and regular engagement between Your Excellency and the management of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. Such periodic meetings will deepen collaboration, improve communication, and enable the organized youth constituency to continue contributing meaningfully to governance and the development of our dear state.
Your Excellency, as we look ahead, we earnestly pray for your re-election. We believe continuity is necessary to consolidate the remarkable achievements your administration has recorded, particularly in the area of youth development. We believe Osun State stands to benefit even more if you are given the opportunity to complete the good work you have started.
Your ambition is our ambition. Your vision is our vision. Your struggle is our struggle. Your success is our success, and by the grace of God, your victory at the polls will be the victory of the youth and the good people of Osun State. We shall continue to mobilize young people responsibly, encourage peaceful participation, and support every lawful effort that will strengthen our democracy.
Your Excellency, we are not oblivious to the numerous challenges your administration has encountered. We are aware of the distractions, the opposition, and the many attempts to frustrate the implementation of your programmes and policies. We equally understand that some of these challenges have affected initiatives that would have directly benefited the youth of our state. Nevertheless, we have remained steadfast because we understand the circumstances and believe that no administration succeeds without overcoming challenges.
Today, we reassure Your Excellency that you are not alone. The organized youth constituency stands firmly with you. We remain committed to the ideals of peace, progress, justice, and sustainable development, and we shall continue to play our part in ensuring that Osun State continues on the path of growth and prosperity.

Your Excellency, while appreciating your immense support for the youth constituency, we humbly seek your kind intervention in a few critical areas.
Firstly, we respectfully appeal for the prompt approval and release of the statutory subvention due to the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter. This support will greatly enhance our ability to coordinate programmes and activities across the thirty Local Government Areas, the Area Office, and our numerous affiliated youth organizations.
Furthermore, we humbly appeal for an upward review of the budgetary allocation to the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter. As the apex youth body representing the organized youth constituency in Osun State, our responsibilities continue to expand, yet the current budgetary provision is no longer sufficient to meet the growing demands of youth development, leadership training, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, peace-building, and grassroots mobilization. An increased budgetary allocation will strengthen our capacity to effectively complement your administration's youth development agenda.
Your Excellency, we also respectfully request that, upon your re-election, your administration considers the inclusion of a statutory annual subvention for our affiliated Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs). These organizations remain the backbone of youth mobilization and community development across the state. With institutional support from government, they will be better positioned to implement impactful programmes in education, health, entrepreneurship, sports, peace advocacy, environmental sustainability, and community service. Such a policy will further strengthen the organized youth movement and stand as another enduring legacy of your administration's commitment to youth empowerment.
We also humbly request the approval and provision of an official bus for the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter. As the umbrella body coordinating youth programmes and engagements across the state, a dedicated vehicle will greatly enhance our mobility, improve our operational efficiency, and enable us to respond more effectively to government assignments and youth-related activities in every part of Osun State.
Secondly, we respectfully request the approval and release of funds for the renovation of the NYCN State Secretariat. A befitting and functional secretariat will improve our administrative efficiency and serve as a centre for youth engagement, leadership development, innovation, and programme coordination across the state.
Finally, Your Excellency, we seek your compassionate intervention on behalf of one of our members who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. The medical expenses have risen to approximately Four Million Naira, an amount that has become overwhelming for the individual and family. We humbly appeal to Your Excellency to extend your helping hand towards this life-saving intervention. We are confident that your compassion and generosity will bring hope and relief to this young person.
Your Excellency, on behalf of the millions of young people in Osun State, we sincerely thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and giving us a sense of belonging in your administration. We assure you of our continued loyalty, cooperation, and commitment to every policy and programme that promotes the progress of our dear state.
May Almighty God continue to strengthen you with good health, divine wisdom, courage, and greater accomplishments as you continue to lead our dear state to greater heights.
