IMOLE YOUTH CORPS’ VIGILANCE UNCOVERS LIFELESS BODY AT AREGBE BRIDGE — COMMISSIONER OLAGUNJU MOSHOOD OLALEKAN COMMENDS SWIFT ACTION
In an unsettling yet commendable turn of events, members of the Imọlẹ Youth Corps (IYC) working at Aregbe Bridge in Osogbo made a startling discovery on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, a lifeless body found beneath the bridge during their routine community engagement activities.

The grim encounter, which occurred around midday, sent ripples through the immediate community. However, the composure and swift alertness of the IYC members reflect the high level of civic consciousness instilled in the Corps.

Without delay, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, arrived at the scene for an on-the-spot assessment. His presence reinforced the Ministry’s deep commitment to youth development, public safety, and community responsiveness.

In alignment with statutory procedures, the Commissioner ensured the matter was formally reported to the Nigerian Police, Osun State Command, who have since commenced a full investigation. Furthermore, the Ministry of Environment has been duly informed and is expected to carry out the appropriate environmental and public health protocols concerning the body.

This incident, however, highlights the indispensable role of the Imọlẹ Youth Corps, not just as agents of community service but as sentinels of societal vigilance. Their sense of duty, attention to detail, and rapid coordination with authorities exemplify the transformative vision behind the IYC initiative.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs reiterates its profound appreciation for the commitment and bravery shown by the Corps members and assures the public that every necessary action is being taken in collaboration with the relevant agencies.
