In a strategic move to strengthen youth development and collaborative governance, a high level delegation from the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Osun State Chapter, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sasona Mayowa Ayomide, paid an official courtesy visit to the Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, today.
The visit was aimed at commending the Honourable Commissioner for his outstanding commitment to youth empowerment and acknowledging the Ministry's remarkable efforts in creating a thriving environment for young people across the state.
Receiving the delegation, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to peace, progress, and inclusive youth development. Addressing the leadership, the Commissioner spoke passionately about the need for absolute unity, stating firmly that he does not support division or factionalism among youth groups.
"I am a man of peace, and my primary desire is to see every youth in this state operate in absolute accordance and oneness," the Commissioner stated.
To back this up, the Commissioner pledged his readiness to actively engage relevant stakeholders to resolve outstanding misunderstandings and factional tendencies within the youth constituency. Pledging the full support of the Ministry, he urged NYAN members to maintain their integrity, charging them to resist being used as mere electoral tools by politicians, but rather to position themselves as drivers of positive societal change.
Furthermore, the Honourable Commissioner encouraged the Assembly to continue supporting the massive developmental agenda of the administration of Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke (Imole), ensuring that the progress being witnessed across Osun State is collectively sustained.
Responding on behalf of the assembly, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sasona Mayowa Ayomide, expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner for his warm reception and forward thinking vision, reaffirming NYAN's absolute readiness to partner with the ministry and the state government to deliver sustainable development for all Osun youths.
