The People's Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party in Osun State, has officially welcomed Hon. Sunday Taiwo, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Boluwaduro LG Ward 5, along with his supporters. This defection occurred during a significant event led by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, a
well-respected figure in Boluwaduro Local Government.
Hon. Taiwo expressed that his decision to join the PDP was motivated by a desire for progressive leadership and inclusivity. He noted that the PDP has shown a commitment to a community-focused approach in governance, appealing to the grassroots.
"I have come to understand that the PDP genuinely prioritizes the welfare of the people, and this aligns with what our community requires. The leadership of Governor Adeleke has exemplified inclusivity, and I feel it's time for us to unite with the PDP to drive further progress in Ward 5 and beyond," Hon. Taiwo stated during his address.
Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan warmly received Hon. Taiwo and his supporters into the party, praising their courageous choice. He promised them equal opportunities to participate in the party's advancement and growth.
The event also saw the presence of several distinguished leaders, including the former caretaker Chairman of Boluwaduro East LCDA, Hon. 'Biodun Fatooki-Oloba; the State Youth Leader, Hon. Gbenga Idowu; the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Olajire Osungade; the five Councillorship Candidates from the LCDA; and the Ward 5 Chairman, Hon. Oguntokun Alaba, among others.
