The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has officially declared 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Course opened, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the welfare, safety, and growth of corps members in the state.
Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan who re-presented Governor Adeleke addressed corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede during the swearing-in and opening ceremony of the Corps members.
Hon. Olagunju in his address, welcomed corps members deployed to Osun State in the name of his Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke including corps members transferred from Lagos, describing Osun as a peaceful and hospitable state, fondly known as the “State of the Living Spring.” He praised the NYSC scheme for its pivotal role in fostering national unity, peace, and development since its inception in 1973.
“I’m proud of all of you for showing up and ready to serve your country. Nigeria needs your ideas, energy, and love for the national growth and development,” Hon. Olagunju Moshood emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, teamwork, and resilience during the service year.
He also commended the NYSC Osun team, led by State Coordinator Mr. Agbor Ndoma Obies, for their dedication to organizing a meaningful Orientation programme, noted the state government’s swift response to recent storm damage at the camp, assuring corps members of ongoing support and improvements to their living conditions.
While encouraging the new corps members to take full advantage of the lectures, trainings, and skill acquisition sessions offered during the orientation, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan urged them to uphold good conduct, integrity, and patriotism throughout their service year.
“You now represent your families, your states, and your institutions. Be good ambassadors and serve Nigeria with pride,” he charged.
Hon. Olagunju concluded by officially declaring the three-week Orientation Course open and wished the corps members a successful and impactful service year.
