The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, has called on youths across the state to shun all forms of violence as campaigns for the forthcoming gubernatorial election commence today, Tuesday, March 11, 2026.
Hon. Olagunju made the appeal while addressing the youth populace, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and order throughout the campaign period. He noted that the energy, strength, and influence of young people in the political process should be channeled towards promoting unity, constructive engagement, and the advancement of democratic values rather than conflict and unrest.
The Commissioner urged youths not to allow themselves to be used as instruments of violence by desperate political actors, stressing that peaceful participation in political activities will contribute significantly to the continued stability, progress, and development of Osun State.
He further advised young people across the state to conduct themselves responsibly and ensure that all campaign activities remain orderly, peaceful, and law-abiding.
Hon. Olagunju also expressed confidence in the maturity, discipline, and sense of responsibility of Osun youths, urging them not to relent in their support for the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, particularly as the state looks forward to consolidating the achievements of the current government through the Governor’s second-term bid for the continuity of people-centered governance.
