The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Osun State under the leadership of Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan is compelled to address the recent controversy surrounding the National Youth Conference and the alleged bickering between a group (CCNC) and the Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, regarding Confab committee representation.
It has come to our attention that certain individuals are resorting to deceitful tactics and blatant misinformation to distort the facts. We want to state unequivocally that the Ministry's actions were guided strictly by the Federal Ministry of Youth's directive for gender balance and proper representation. This directive emphasizes inclusivity and merit in the nomination process for the conference's state steering committee.
We strongly condemn these shameless attempts to manipulate public opinion and incite negative sentiments. Such actions are clearly driven by opportunists who are more interested in self-aggrandizement than genuine youth engagement within Osun State.
We urge these mischief-makers to desist from their reckless campaign of calumny and instead channel their energy into supporting initiatives that promote inclusivity, fairness, and equal opportunities for all young people in our state.
The Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs reaffirms its commitment to the principles of inclusivity, fairness, and equal opportunities. The Ministry's decisions and actions in this matter are entirely consistent with the Osun State government's values of inclusivity and the directives issued by the Federal Ministry of Youth.
Finally, we call on all well-meaning Osun youths to reject these divisive narratives and lend their support to initiatives that genuinely promote youth engagement, empowerment, and holistic development across our state in line with the youth-friendly agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
