The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, also known as Serubawon, on the anniversary of his passing.
Hon. Olagunju described the late governor as a trailblazer whose contributions to governance and public service remain etched in the hearts of the people.
“Senator Isiaka Adeleke was more than a political figure , he was a symbol of hope and service to the people,” the Commissioner said. “Even in death, Serubawon’s legacy endures. We remember him today with gratitude and deep respect.”
He praised Adeleke’s leadership style, especially his ability to connect with the grassroots and uplift the lives of the common man. According to Hon. Olagunju, Adeleke’s selflessness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Osun citizens continue to inspire both young and old.
Senator Isiaka Adeleke made history as the first executive governor of Osun State, serving from 1992 to 1993. He later represented Osun West in the Senate, where he remained a vocal advocate for his constituents until his untimely death on April 23, 2017.
The Commissioner concluded his tribute by encouraging young leaders to emulate the values Senator Adeleke stood for, urging them to lead with compassion, vision, and integrity.
