The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, on Monday conducted an inspection visit to beneficiaries of the Imole Youth Corps deployed to the Environmental Sector in Osogbo.
The visit, which took place at Stadium Roundabout, was part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor and evaluate the performance of Corps members at their various Places of Primary Assignment (PPA). The inspection also aimed to ensure that the objectives of the Imole Youth Corps initiative are being fully realized.
The Imole Youth Corps, a youth empowerment program established by the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is designed to engage young people in meaningful public service. The initiative strategically places beneficiaries in key sectors including Education, Health, and Environment, to assist civil servants and contribute to state development.
Hon. Olagunju, accompanied by his aides and ministry officials, paid an unscheduled visit to the work site to observe the beneficiaries in action. The Corps members warmly welcomed the Commissioner, expressing their appreciation for his commitment and hands-on leadership. One of the beneficiaries remarked, "Oga, we are not surprised to see you. You are a hardworking Commissioner, and we are very happy to see you. We are proud to serve Osun State under the Imole initiative."
In his remarks, Hon. Olagunju commended the youth for their dedication, discipline, and contribution to public service. He urged them to remain focused and continue upholding the values of diligence and community service. He also reiterated the state government’s commitment to youth development and inclusive governance.
The Commissioner concluded by applauding Governor Ademola Adeleke for initiating the Imole Youth Corps, describing it as a visionary program that empowers young people and strengthens the state’s workforce.
