OSUN STATE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AFFAIRS ORGANIZES RAMADAN, LENTEN PROGRAM TO PROMOTE UNITY AMONG YOUTH
The Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, led by the Honorable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, organized Ramadan and Lenten program on Thursday, March 27, 2025. An event aimed at strengthening unity among the Christian and Muslim youth to promote love and develop community.
The theme: "Genuine Love Among the Youth for Community Development" the program was designed to bring together the youth across the State, strengthening interfaith relationship and encouraging the youth. During the event, lectures were delivered for both Christian and Muslim scholars and gift items were distributed to the participants.
Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, in his address, commended the youth for maintaining peace and order in the state. He also urged them to continue supporting the present administration of Governor Senator (Dr.) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, emphasizing that the governor has prioritized youth development and made his tenure youth-friendly.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Special Adviser on Public Communication, Hon. Olushola Ajala; the LGEA Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Alh. Oseni Muhammed Olatunji; the Deputy State Youth Leader of Osun State PDP, Hon. Akintunde Lukman (LUCAS); the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on ‘O’ Signage, Hon. Ayofe Ridwan Abinuwaye; SSA on Civil Society Engagement, Hon. Adebisi Emmanuel; SSA on Grassroot Engagement, Hon. Adetunji Ajala David; and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Aare Oyeniyi Abdulmajeed.
Other notable attendees includes a Christian and a Muslim Cleric who lectured on Christian and Islamic religions, a representative of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Hon. Akinrinade Adekunle (representing Osun Central), members of the Nigerian Youth Council of Nigeria, Tolulope Ogunleye Branch Secretary Nigerian Red Cross,
Osun state branch, National Youth Congress representatives, and others.
The program reinforced the importance of love, unity, and collaboration among Osun youths, emphasizing their role in the state’s development and progress.
