The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, earlier today visited the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Ede, Osun State for an inspection following severe damage caused by a windstorm yesterday evening.
The storm, which was accompanied by heavy rainfall, tore off the roofs of several buildings within the camp, prompting an urgent response from the state government for urgent attention. The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Moshood Olagunju Olalekan, alongside his entourage, visited the camp for inspection and made an immediate cost estimation of the affected areas for renovation.
Among the team led by the honourable Commissioner were; Mr. Agbor Obim Ndoma, the Osun State NYSC Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of swift repairs to ensure the safety and comfort of corps members. The early visit by the team brought the awareness of the state government to the damage and triggered the commitment to renovate the affected facilities.
Hon. Olagunju assured that immediate action will be taken to repair the affected buildings and facilities. He reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to youth welfare and stated that the administration of Governor Senator Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has consistently supported initiatives that benefit the Nation Youth Corps in Osun State.
Efforts are now underway to facilitate the necessary repairs and restore the NYSC camp to normal.
